Age is really confusing for me to grasp as a concept at this age. I guess because I feel so young, but then the online discourse confuses me. Then, also, I haven’t hit certain milestones I guess I was supposed to by this age. I also didn’t meet my own expectations for the things I wanted to do by this age.
I guess my brain hasn’t even caught on that I’m an adult yet. I’ve been in this limbo for a while. I suppose that’s the weird thing about being in your twenties. It doesn’t help when you grow up as “too mature for your age”, where you fall out of balance between when you’re supposed to be a child, and when you step into adulthood. There’s no clear line between my childhood self, if she was ever there, and my mature (adult?) self. Those blend and deny one another.
Time is passing anyway. Life continues happening. In a few years, I might start to see age on my face. My mind? I’m not sure when it’s going to click. I do feel old. I can tell you when I realized I felt old. It was a long time ago. When my eyelids dropped from exhaustion, my jaw set, and my back crunched over.
Today, I craved instant noodles, and then I found the last package in the cabinet I had forgotten about. That made me happy. I don’t know what else that says about me. I don’t know what makes me an adult. Maybe my aspirations. But, as I said, my path has always been the same. I always just wanted to leave and live life on my own terms. Instead, I got health issues.
All my childhood, with how I held myself, I always ran ahead of time. Then, at one moment, I stopped to catch my breath, and when I wanted to start again, life had already passed me by.
I’ve been told once I was childish simply because my favorite movie is animated. Is that the criterion? I guess I’m not an adult yet, then.
Let me get back to you on that one, as soon as I finish my noodles.

We’ve been sold a lie about love. We think love is proven in big moments. Elaborate proposals. Expensive gifts. Grand declarations. But those aren’t what sustain a relationship. What sustains is what happens on ordinary Tuesday afternoons.
A woman falls in love with small things. The way you remember how she takes her coffee. The text just to say you’re thinking of her. The hand that finds her back in a crowded room. These moments say more than any grand gesture. They say: I see you. You matter to me.
Consistency is the foundation of trust. Big promises are easy to make. Anyone can say “”I’ll always love you.”” But showing up day after day, in small and quiet ways, proves it. A text every morning. A coffee brought without asking. A hand reached for in the dark.
She doesn’t need perfection. She needs presence. She doesn’t need constant attention. She needs to know she’s on your mind. Grand gestures are memorable. But small, consistent acts of love are what make her feel truly cherished.
Don’t wait for special occasions. Love her in the ordinary moments. Send the text. Make the coffee. Reach for her hand. Consistency speaks louder than any promise ever could.
