I’d wake up to the feeling that the bus had stopped moving. We’d reach the final station, and I’d look around at an unknown place. It wouldn’t be a bus station either, where I’d be surrounded by a bunch of other buses and people. No, it would be straight at the main scene.

It’d be a small town, somewhere by the coast. The seagulls would screech above me, and the sea spray would reach me as soon as I stepped out of the bus.

I’d be tired and lost, with no plan, of course, but then I’d stumble upon a bakery (/bookstore/flower shop/bistro), and I’d randomly decide to get inside. I’d start talking with the owners, and wouldn’t you know it, they’re hiring!

Or, as I step off the bus, I see an inn across the street, so I walk inside. No reservations, but of course they have a room available. I have money for a while, but then I start running low. Then, as chance would have it, they need help in the inn, so I offer to work in exchange for a stay.

Don’t worry about the logistics, okay? It would work out! So many books and movies said so!

I’d do a little bit of this, a little bit of that. Nothing defined, just going with the vibe. My life would be so full of art and romance. Everything would be romantic, and the walks along the beach in those rain boots (because it’s always a chilly fall day – no summer in my perfect scenario, sorry), and a nice warm cardigan would be a must!

I wouldn’t even have to worry about the after. The future is abstract. I can simply plaster the happily ever after sticker on it, and I’m no longer responsible for the rest of the story!

Cue some indie music, some baking, some books, a scented candle or two, some rain, looking with melancholy out to sea, a couple of crows, and… am I forgetting anything?

Anyway, either that, or send me to the forest to be a goodhearted and wise witch.
