I know I always go on and on about how time isn’t really a thing, and you’re not late to anything, and we all live at our own pace, so time cannot escape you, but…
There is one thing.
I think it’s one of those things that, at least for me, has a window you can miss and can’t really catch later on.
It’s about books. Could be about movies, too.
I see posts and content about favorite books growing up, and then people come together to reminisce about their favorite books and memories tied to them.
And it feels like an inside joke I’m not in on.
Books weren’t around when I was little. It wasn’t encouraged, for whatever reason, so the only thing I had was what I wrote myself. I was bored to death!
Anyway, by the time I went to the city for high school, I had already missed a few windows. And then I was overwhelmed with everything I wanted to read, so I really became a bookworm. No, a cookie monster – book edition.
Even now I see beautiful covers of children’s or middle-school books, and they sound so fun, but I’m not the target audience, and I can’t read them!
I mean, I can read them, obviously. I can comprehend them, dammit, but I can’t just pick up any of those books and casually enjoy them now. I mean, I am able to, but you know what I mean!
And I also hate that I have to catch up on so many things now, that literally had no reason to be denied in the first place.

I am the same but with the Internet in this context. We didn’t have cable T.V or Internet until I was in later years of high school.

Yeah, internet and phones for me, for that matter, were something I didn’t grow up with, but also got in high school. I hope you had good time without it and found your entertainment anyway! On the other side of the spectrum, it’s more available and present for kids today, and I don’t think it’s a good thing, either.

Yeah some of my days were spent literally throwing rocks lol. I agree kids these days can’t live without their phones.

I love reading children’s books in the reason that it’s easily to be reviewed.🤭 We’re the same. My childhood books are only textbooks. I found my love of reading later in life –in my 20s. Damm*t😁😅

Oh, for reviews it’s another thing, because I approach it as a reviewer/editor with the audiences in mind 😅
Yep, passed down textbooks for me! There’s nostalgia in it, tho! At least we found the love for it, or a means to nurture it! 😄

Yeah, still nurturing. 😅 textbook sounds boring and stressful to me now. Maybe I became lazier this time😁
Writing reviews considered work to me unlike writing blogs that I feel like just narrating my own story.
