silence

Go gather by the humming sea,
Some twisted, echo-harbouring shell,
And to its lips thy story tell,
And they thy comforters will be,
…

W. B. Yeats

Sometimes I just long for silence. Sometimes, words want to leave my lips, but won’t make themselves known. A whisper, lost in the howling of the wind. Deep breath. Sometimes it’s just fidgeting in between dreams, a commotion before becoming dormant again.

I desire quiet sometimes. When everything around me is slowing down, I want to greet that rhythm and embrace it.

A whisper…

Humming…

      1. Mountains are the best place to be! I was just commenting that with my sister the other day. There’s just immense beauty! 🤩

      2. That’s so cute! 😄 We don’t have one name for the two of us, but she calls me keki, which is like a cake, and it goes with her nickname – kike and keki 🥰

  1. Beautifully expressed… sometimes silence speaks the words our hearts are unable to say. There is something deeply comforting about simply slowing down, breathing, and letting the quiet hold us for a while. 🤍

    1. Thank you! 🤍 Much like our minds have a lot to say, and there’s a hundred things we want to talk about, silence also has a lot to say. Only it’s maybe the most difficult to understand its language.

    1. Does it come as unusual, when you feel like you constantly want to/ have a lot to say, to actually enjoy silence without a racing mind that wants to push it out of the way? That’s how I feel, and silence and I used to be best friends.
