You may be wondering how I did it. Well… For context, this was during our trip to Vienna.
We were making our way through the zoo when the rain started ushering us towards the exit. We were panicking because we didnβt have an umbrella and didnβt want to get caught in a downpour in the early morning. We had plans for that day!
So we hid and waited for it to pass, which didnβt take long, but by then, weβd already seen everything anyway and were getting hungry.
We made our way to the exit (after a mandatory gift shop stop), past the botanical garden, and towards the gateway.
So, when you enter the gardens, thereβs a pathway going straight, and I believe it leads to the SchΓΆnbrunn gardens, and then you head to your right if you want to go to the zoo.
By the gateway, thereβs a booth selling huge pretzels, which was heaven-sent for my sister and me, as we hadnβt had breakfast.
So we bought these pretzels and sat on the nearby bench. We were taking in the beauty of the gardens. It was fall, everything golden and lovely. Crumbs were falling to the ground when a crow flew over us.
And then another. And some more.
My sister is mortified, thinking they might attack us to steal the food, but crows are actually friendly. They are just big and loud.
So I shared my pretzel with them, noticing their behavior and hierarchy, and I managed to invite one crow really close to me, almost to the point where she could take the food straight from my hands.
So even though we just visited the zoo and saw all these incredible animals, feeding the crows on a random bench in the park was the highlight of my day.
I love crows! They are so intelligent, but also funny, especially when they skip around.
My life list wish is to befriend a crow, and in Vienna, I managed to accomplish that, even if it was short-lived.

Your title sounds scary, but if me, I also enjoyed befriending a crow. All animals, except snakes and worms.ππ
So lovely photos!

It sounded confusing for me, too, when I first found out that a group of crows is called a murder π And I agree (well, maybe snakes I wouldn’t mind π)
Thank youu!

Really? You’re not afraid of shakes? Amazing!
I run away if I see one.π and I had plenty of nightmares about worms.

I’m not! I mean, I’m also careful around them, but I’m not scared or running away (I am my mother’s daughter, what can I say?π)
Worms I can’t stand, even a photo is enough to make me sick!

The other day, my second eldest sister suspects that her plants have a worm. She look for it, but she’s afraid like me, but she cares for her plants. She called Kuya to help find it, and minutes later, Kuya throws something to her, which she shouted, but it’s not a worm. Kuya just being silly. That’s me if I’m in her position.π
I’m okay with the photo coz it’s not moving, but never in real.πalso for snakes. I run.

Crows are amazing creatures! We have a custom of feeding crows 13 days after someone passes away, after they have been cremated. They say that the dead return as crows. On that day they make all the favourite foods of that person as an offering. A veterinary doctor I know made an observation which I don’t completely believe honestly but he said that crows have the ability to exchange consciousness or personalities. This baffled me because it sounds fake but the tradition of giving offerings to crows might have rooted from this. Just a fun fact! Cheers!ππ«Άπ
